5 Tips for Getting your Car Cold Weather Ready

It's inevitable that the cold weather is on its way for many of us.  From closing the windows and turning on the heat to wearing warmer clothes, the cold weather definitely likes to make its grand entrance when it is time.  It can cause a lot of changes, including in the vehicle you drive.  Now is the time to get it ready for those cold weather elements so that you are prepared.

Here are 5 tips to take into consideration when getting your car ready for the cold:

1. Be sure to check your oil level.  Use an oil that is perfect for winter driving too.
2. Be sure to fill up with windshield washer fluid.  Anti-freeze fluid is a great option when driving in the colder months, especially when it starts to freeze.
3. Make sure your tires are all properly inflated.  Maybe evaluate if your car needs new tires for the fall and winter season.
4. Be sure to have your winter survival kit packed up in and in the trunk in case of an emergency.  This includes: jumper cables, flares, ice scrapers, road salt, flashlights, blankets, etc.
5. Most of all, be sure to check your car's battery.  Most auto parts stores do this for free to see if you need a new one installed.
